Conor Harrington – Dead Meat

For the last few months I’ve followed Conor Harrington as he has been preparing for his recently opened solo show ‘Dead Meat’ at Lazarides Rathbone gallery.  I love watching the painting process so being able to watch this show come together has been a true feast for the eyes.

After many months of working long hours and through some pretty damn cold days and a power cut the work was finished.  The show opened Thursday 01st March to heaving gallery and a queue at the door.  For more pictures of the work and the gallery space follow the link.

I dropped by to see Conor Harrington in his studio at at the weekend for the usual coffee & cake but to also see how he’s progressing on a new body of work for ‘Dead Meat‘. The show opens at Lazarides Rathbone Gallery on March 02nd and is sure to draw a lot of attention.

‘Skin Deep’ a solo show from Ron English is packed with stunning paintings of his trademark characters in his unique and meticulous style.

 

You really do need to see these works in the flesh to truly appreciate the work that has gone into each and every painting. The show runs from Friday 24th June through to July 23rd at Lazarides Rathbone Gallery.

Boogie – Demons

Xenz – Pecking Disorder

Since meeting Xenz in Gambia last year I’ve kept in touch with him as well as what he’s up to.

Over the last few months he’s been preparing for his first solo show ‘Pecking Disorder’, opening this Thursday 17th March, up in the north of England at Lazarides Outsiders space.  During this time it has been fascinating to watch Xenz painting, the man just never seems to stop.  Some photos from the studio visits below as well as an excerpt from the press release.

The labyrinth of tunnels beneath Waterloo station will be converted into a large-scale evocation of Dante’s Inferno.  Visitors will explore a unique interpretation of the nine circles of hell through the vision of your very favorite Laz artists plus additional contributions from outside the normal roster including: Conor Harrington, Vhils, George Osodi, Antony Micallef, Doug Foster, Todd James, Paul Insect, Mark Jenkins, Boogie, Ian Francis, Polly Morgan, Jonathan Yeo, Zak Ové and many more.
